Review
Today in Human Geo. we talked about the midterms. There will be questions based on everything we have discussed since the beginning of the year, which going to be very difficult because we have to remember everything since we started this class in the beginning of the year. However all we can do is review and review and check over my notes and try to get a good grade. We also talked about how even when we get back we don't change classes until another two weeks. This confused me a little bit because how do we learn new stuff in certain classes that are only a semester long. Who knows.

Essay
Today in Human Geo. we did multiple things. I worked on my essay for a while. I got a big portion of it done. I changed one of my countries. I previously had Niger. A poverty ridden nation that is located on the continent of Africa. I changed it to a place called Angola. Angola is a place located on the southern African continent. It is slowly developing but they have a political system. They have a republic. This means that all of the people in control are voted in by the people. They are influenced by the people and the people tell them what to do. I chose this nation over Niger because I felt like Angola is more of a developing country while Niger is more of just starting out. Also Angola has a higher birth rate and longer life expectancy. I also got my test back and I got a hundred percent.

Essay
Today in Human Geo. we worked on our essays. We also had a sub. We sat down and got started right away. The option I am choosing to do is option A. Option A is and I quote "Choose three nations from three different parts of the world. Discuss the challenges they face regarding population and migration, using information we learned during our studies (perhaps including CIA World Factbook data, population pyramids, Net Migration Rates, possible overpopulation or underpopulation). Also, analyze what each nation's leaders need to do to deal with these challenges." I am doing this because I think you can have a lot of information and not have to worry about not having enough places to find or research information. I also thinks that it will be easy to find three countries that have the three different types of population pyramids. I think the countries I will use are Japan, USA, and Niger. I will do Japan because The population is shrinking, USA because the population is increasing slowly and then Niger because it is increasing rapidly.

Quiz
Today in Human Geo. we took a quiz. I thought that the quiz was actually quite easy. I thought this because we had what we needed to study from and we were told what would be on the quiz. I thought there were a couple hard questions. One of the questions I thought were weird was what country does not have people in the caravan that is coming towards America. Now I thought I remember hearing on the news that there were immigrants in it that were coming from Honduras. I may be wrong but also I did not know which one to choose. I choose Brazil. I also thought that may be El Salvador. I think that is Brazil though not totally sure. On the quiz there were two parts. A choose the word and then multiple guess/ choice. I thought that the word to that you fill in was easier. I thought this because there was a word band and then the answers were there.

Immigration
Today in Human Geo. we talked about many things. The U.S recognizes the incentives to come to America illegally. They may come for the job opportunities, family reunification, or even a better way of life. The view from Mexico is that there should be more empathy for illegal immigrants because Mexico goes through the same things and they have just as many troubles as we do. Also the south Mexican people are less tolerant because of the people coming up through Guatemala. Most views in the United States of America are either on one side or the other. By this I mean that they either support illegal immigration or they are against it. Sanctuary cities are cities that illegal immigrants can not be "captured and deported if they have not committed a crime. There are over three hundred cities that do this. A major example is Chicago, Arlington, and even Baltimore.

Notes on packet
Today in Human Geo. we took notes on the same things as the packet. We also had a very interesting discussion. We talked about how illegal immigrants get jobs. They can work at restaurants or other places but usually they get taken to work sites and then get paid. We also looked a government Immigration Policies. Most countries have selective immigration policies that limit the number of immigrants that are allowed into the country. There are four types of selective immigration. The first is maintain the current level immigration. The next is increase immigration where you get more people than the year before. The third is reduce the level where you get less people then the year before. Finally, there is no policy. This is where they let whoever in whenever because maybe they want everyone, or their country is to poor for a policy or there is not a structured government. There are also unauthorized immigrants which come into the country illegally. They take up five percent of the working population in America.

Migration Packet
Today in
Human Geo. we were given a packet. The packet contained four main points on
immigration. We were told to read through the packet and take notes. The first
was Government Immigration Policies. Most countries have selective immigration
policies that limit the number of immigrants that are allowed into the country.

Discussion volume 2
Today in Human Geo. we continued to talk about the podcast, take notes, and discuss as we went along. Today we really got into metering. Metering is the idea that there will only be thirty court cases heard a day. This also limits the number of people that will come into the country. Trump also wants to make people wait in Mexico instead if they apply to get into this country. Usually they would come into America and then come back for their court hearing. They can often have ankle bracelets to track them to make sure they come back for their court hearing. They could get a job to sustain them self and their children and family. Now people are supposed to you specific spots to sign up to enter the country. You used to be able to any government office in the country. If you go in a wrong place you could have time penalties on when you are able to come in.

Discussion
Today in Human Geo. we continued having our discussion on migration. We also continued to listen to the pod cast and along the way we asked questions, took notes and discussed. In 2008 under the Obama, he added a new thing that qualify you for immigration into this country. There was already a list of five things. The first thing is race. This is the color of your skin so like African American, Mexican, and Asian. The next one is Nationality. This is whatever nation that you were born in or where you come from. The next is religion. Religion is a precious thing that should be cherished and respected by all no matter what your religion is. The next is your political view. What your political view is what you think should happen with the government and your opinion on certain problems. The next and was the final one was social group. A social group is a group of people that share the same political views on something. The one that was most recently added was domestic violence. This is when your husband or someone is abusing you physically.
